Martin Bosley - Trainer
After riding over 100 winners as a jump jockey for prolific trainers, including Henrietta Knight, David Elsworth, and the late Captain Tim Forster, Martin has gained a lifetime experience and knowledge of horsemanship. In 1997 he retired from the saddle to take over training from his well respected father John Bosley .
John Bosley trained successfully for 42 years under both codes, producing good horses such as Corn Street, Pusey Street and Bridge Street Lady on the flat and Eyecatcher who was 3rd in the 1976 and 1977 Grand National's.
Since Martin started training in 1997 he has produced and revitalised some remarkable performers as you will see from the 'Winners table' - horses that had lost their way with various training problems with their previous handlers.
Most notable winners revitalised by Martin who went on to win Grade 1 events were Rubhahunish (Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals) and Sabadilla - winner of The Galway Hurdle in Ireland.
Continuing to ride out daily, Martin is "hands on" with all the horses in his care ensuring he is familiar with each individual's character and ability. He is renowned for his patience, attention to detail and selective race planning for each individual horse.
With regard to hobbies Martin enjoys all sports from golf, tennis, football, cricket and rugby.

When looking for a jockey to ride a horse in a race Martin will use the best available and in some cases a jockey to suit the horse.
When looking out for future top Jockeys Martin has a good eye for noticing the early talent at the start of their careers such as George Baker (gave him his 2nd winner), Hayley Turner (rode us winners in her second season), Nico De Boinville (rode for us as an amateur before he went professional) and to the present day early talent - George Wood (gave him his 5th winner of his career), Mr Zac Baker (started with us at the age of 12 and gave him his first two winners at 16yrs in Point to Points, followed by his first five wins under rules) and Paddy Pilley (came to us at 13 and when he was 16 we placed him with Mick Channon as his apprentice).
Sarah, married to Martin in 1990, rode for 14 years on the flat under rules gaining 48 winners in the UK and abroad - riding in over 600 races.
