Routes into Ownership

There are two main routes into ownership.

A Sole Owner owns a horse outright, takes responsibility for all the training and racing costs and collects the owner's share of the prize money.

A Co-Owner shares the costs and the prize money with 2 to 20 people through Weatherbys, the administrative body of horseracing.  This is an increasingly popular form of ownership which can also be arranged as a racing partnership, more commonly known as a syndicate.

We offer attractive opportunities for both types of ownership.

Discuss with Martin some options of purchasing - 85% of the horses he has bought for current owners have won or been placed. Agents are available to purchase for you but charge a fee of 5% of the purchase price.  Martin Bosley does not charge his owners for purchasing at the sales.

Sponsorship and VAT - Martin Bosley is sponsored by Medivet (an equine body wash) and our owners are entitled to be part of the sponsorship scheme.  The VAT scheme allows owners to register for VAT and reclaim VAT on their racing related expenses.  Owners may register for VAT in return for securing a minimum level of sponsorship.
